Buffy Sings Again!
"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" was more than just a television series, it became a cultural phenomenon that garnered legions of fans worldwide. One episode in particular stands out with fans and television critics alike as being one of the top tv episodes of all time... the musical episode Once More, With Feeling. Written, composed and directed by series creator Joss Whedon and choreographed by Adam Shankman (Hairspray), the episode involves a tap-dancing demon (played by Broadway legend Hinton Battle) who magically forces the residents of Sunnydale to sing and dance about their innermost feelings and secrets until they burst into flames. Since the show ended in 2003, thousands of Buffy fans have gathered for special "sing along" screenings of Once More, With Feeling.
Now You Can Sing Along!

Join SWAMP and Discovery Green for a special FREE screening of Once More, With Feeling on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 7:30pm. The event will take place under the stars on a giant outdoor screen in the park and will include a special appearance by Amber Benson (aka "Tara"). Please note: due to a scheduling conflict, Adam Busch will not be able to attend.
We will also be offering a number of Buffy-related activities -including a trivia contest, costume prizes and, of course, the ever-popular "Buffy-oke" where fans attempt to reenact scenes from the show. Whether you're a diehard Buffy fan or you've never watched the show, this is an event not to be missed!
***WIN THE CHANCE TO PERFORM BUFFY-OKE LIVE ON-STAGE WITH AMBER BENSON!!!***
That's right, you could share the spotlight with the one and only Amber Benson on-stage during the Buffy Sing Along. All you have to do is follow @buffysingalong on Twitter, then tweet about why you can't wait to attend (be sure to include "@buffysingalong" in the tweet). You will automatically be entered in the drawing. Winners will be DM'd via Twitter on the morning of the event.
***IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT RECEPTION!***
Due to popular demand, we are moving the OMWF pre-screening reception to another venue to accommodate more people. The reception will now take place at The Heritage Society, conveniently located downtown at 1100 Bagby Street, Houston, Texas 77002. Best part... the parking is FREE! The event will still take place from 5:30 - 7pm in the Heritage Society Museum. Here is the link to The Heritage Society website that includes a map, directions and parking information: http://www.heritagesociety.org/direct.html. Another big advantage to this move is that the venue is much closer to Discovery Green Park, which is also located downtown. So you should have plenty of time to get there, park and find a good spot on the hill.
