Houston Cinema Arts Society presents the Houston premiere of THE PRISON SHOW, a timely and moving documentary about one of the most unique and enduring radio programs in the country. The film captures the heart of KPFT’s legendary broadcast, The Prison Show, which for over 40 years has provided a critical emotional lifeline between incarcerated Texans and their families.

Directed by Gabriella Kessler, THE PRISON SHOW explores how a local Houston radio station became a powerful space for connection, healing, and advocacy, revealing the deep human impact and far-reaching consequences of the U.S. criminal justice system.

Special guests Gabriella Kessler and David Collingsworth, longtime producer of The Prison Show on KPFT, will be in attendance for a post-screening discussion and audience Q&A.
